Fire at Uzbekistan Hotel in Tashkent Quickly Extinguished

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A fire at the Uzbekistan Hotel in Tashkent's Mirzo-Ulugbek District was quickly extinguished and no casualties were reported, Uzbekistan's Ministry of Emergency Situations said.

According to the Tashkent City Department of Emergency Situations, a report of a fire on the 10th floor of the hotel, located on Mustaqillik Avenue, was received at 14:45 on 12 July. Fire and rescue crews arrived at the scene four minutes later, at 14:49, and fully extinguished the fire by 14:54.

The ministry said the rapid response was aided by the timely activation of the building's automatic fire protection systems.

The fire damaged a staff room on the hotel's 10th floor. Emergency services said there were no fatalities or injuries.
