Fire at Tashkent Substation Causes Power Outage

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A transformer fire at the 110 kV “Vystavochnaya” substation in Tashkent on 1 June caused a temporary power outage in parts of the city’s Almazar and Shaykhantakhur districts.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the fire was reported at 18:57 at the substation located along the Small Ring Road in Almazar district. Fire crews arrived at the scene at 19:01.

The fire was brought under control at 19:12 and fully extinguished at 19:17. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

JSC “O‘zbekiston milliy elektr tarmoqlari” said the outage was caused by a malfunction at the “Vystavochnaya” substation. As a result, power supply was interrupted in networks connected to 6 kV outgoing feeders from the facility.

The incident led to temporary electricity disruptions for consumers in parts of the two districts.

Specialists are currently investigating the cause of the malfunction and carrying out restoration work.
