Ferghana Region Holds Business Forum in Japan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A business forum involving a delegation from the Ferghana region and representatives of Japanese businesses was held in the city of Utsunomiya in Tochigi Prefecture. The event brought together around 100 Japanese companies, as well as entrepreneurs and business representatives from Uzbekistan.

The forum was organized as the Ferghana–Tochigi Business Forum and served as a platform to discuss investment and economic cooperation between the two regions.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ferghana region governor Khayrullo Bozorov noted that Uzbekistan–Japan relations have entered a new stage of development in recent years. He emphasized the importance of direct interregional ties for expanding investment cooperation, implementing joint projects, and creating new jobs.

During the event, information was presented on the investment climate in Uzbekistan, including the Ferghana region, as well as on reforms aimed at supporting entrepreneurship, tax incentives, and preferential measures.

Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Olimjon Abdullaev and Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Japan Mukhsinhodja Abdurakhmonov highlighted the steady development of bilateral relations and the potential for expanding cooperation in trade, investment, and technology.

Particular attention at the forum was given to labor migration and economic cooperation. Representatives of the Migration Agency of Uzbekistan and the Japanese company JAY presented programs on attracting Uzbek labor and the country’s economic potential.

Deputy governor of the Ferghana region Nuriddin Mamajanov presented the region’s investment opportunities in industry, agriculture, logistics, and exports, inviting foreign partners to cooperate.

Following the forum, priority areas for joint projects were identified as information technology, renewable energy, education, healthcare, tourism, and digital transformation.

The forum served as a platform for further strengthening economic ties between Uzbekistan and Japan and expanding practical cooperation with the Ferghana region.
