Uzbekistan, Pakistan expand preferential trade regime

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Pakistan will expand the list of goods covered by their preferential trade regime from 14 August 2026. The relevant protocol was approved by a presidential decree signed on 10 July 2026.

Under the document, the preferential trade regime will apply to about 90 product categories. The agreement provides for lower customs duties and simplified trade procedures for products from both countries.

For Uzbek exporters, the preferences will cover selected fruit and vegetable products, food products, drinking water, textiles, yarn, knitted fabrics, copper products, electrical equipment, pharmaceuticals and sanitary ware.

According to the document, the expanded agreement will create additional opportunities for Uzbek companies to enter the Pakistani market, increase bilateral trade, and strengthen investment cooperation and industrial collaboration.

The Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade, together with the relevant government agencies, has been instructed to support domestic exporters in making effective use of the new trade preferences.
