Uzbekistan pays over 330 billion soums to solar owners

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A total of 68,600 individuals received 330.822 billion soums in state budget subsidies during the first half of 2026 for electricity generated by solar panels and supplied to Uzbekistan's unified power system, the Tax Committee said.

The largest amount was paid in the Bukhara Region, where recipients received 61.9 billion soums. Subsidies totalled 60.5 billion soums in the Khorezm Region and 37.3 billion soums in the Kashkadarya Region.

The Tax Committee reminded recipients that accrued subsidies can be transferred to a bank card through the Soliq mobile application by using the "Cashback and Benefits" service in the "Solar Home" section.

The committee also noted that, under the Solar Home programme, owners of solar panels installed on their properties have received 1,000 soums for every kilowatt-hour of electricity supplied to the unified power system in excess of their own consumption since 1 April 2023.

The subsidies are financed from the state budget.
