Tashkent and Turkistan Regions Sign Cooperation Agreement

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Tashkent and Turkistan regions signed an interregional cooperation agreement during the first meeting of the Council of Heads of Regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan, held in Aktau.

The event was attended by Tashkent Region Governor Zoyir Mirzaev, who delivered a report. Participants noted that the first meeting of the Council was a practical result of the good-neighbourly and mutually beneficial cooperation policy pursued by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The participants emphasized that strategic partnership and allied relations between the two countries have reached a qualitatively new level in recent years.

Interregional cooperation is actively developing, with expanded collaboration in trade, investment, industry, agriculture, transport and logistics, tourism, as well as cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

During the forum, Zoyir Mirzaev and Turkistan Region Governor Nuralhan Kusherov signed an agreement aimed at further developing interregional cooperation.

It was noted that a delegation from Turkistan Region had previously visited Tashkent Region. Following the visit, the sides reached agreements on a wide range of areas of cooperation.

The signed document provides for strengthening partnership ties between the regions, implementing joint projects, developing contacts between business communities, and contributing to improving the well-being of the population.
