Uzbekistan and Algeria Expand Geological Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — First Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology of Uzbekistan Feruza Khamidova held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to Uzbekistan Jamila Ashur. The sides discussed prospects for developing bilateral cooperation in mining and geology.

During the talks, representatives of Algeria presented information on the country’s efforts to develop the mining and geological sectors, attract investment, modernize infrastructure and expand cooperation with foreign partners.

Feruza Khamidova provided information on reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan’s mining and geology sector, the activities of major industrial enterprises, as well as large-scale investment projects commissioned in recent years.

The participants paid particular attention to expanding cooperation in the mining industry, geological exploration and the training of qualified specialists.

Following the talks, the sides agreed to organize a video conference between Algeria’s relevant ministry and Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology.

During the meeting, the parties plan to identify priority areas for further cooperation and begin developing joint projects.
