Second Slavic Caravan Freight Train Departs for Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Belarusian Railway dispatched the second freight train under the Slavic Caravan project from Orsha-Vostochnaya station on the night of 4 August. The train is operating along the Belarus–Russia–Kazakhstan–Uzbekistan route.

According to the Belarusian Railway press center, the train is carrying about 4,000 tonnes of wood processing products and foodstuffs. The cargo is destined not only for Uzbekistan but also for neighboring Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

Belarusian Railway also said the project's first train, which departed on 30 July, has already covered about 2,500 km of its roughly 4,000-km journey and is continuing through Kazakhstan.

According to the Belarusian side, the project will create additional opportunities to access the markets of Central and South Asia through Uzbekistan's transport and logistics infrastructure.

The first freight train was launched as part of agreements reached during the official visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Belarus on 8–9 July.
