Ferghana Region Expands Cooperation with Afghan Business
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Ferghana Region is expanding cooperation with Afghan businesses following a meeting between Khokim Khayrullo Bozorov and leadership from several major Afghan companies.
Bozorov met with Abdul Hamidi Anyuri, Director of Emerald Diamond Trading, Atilla Azimi, Director of Kam Air, Abdul Latif Navruzi, Director of Tojmahal Petroleum, and their business partners in Ferghana Region to discuss joint investment projects and further expansion of trade and economic ties, according to the Ferghana Region Khokimiyat.
The talks built upon agreements reached during a visit by a Ferghana Region delegation led by the khokim to Afghanistan on 26–27 July. That visit included official negotiations and business meetings that yielded agreements across various sectors, as well as the opening of Ferghana Region trade houses in Kabul and Mazar-i-Sharif.
During the latest meeting, participants reviewed practical steps to fulfill the agreements, establish new investment projects, and strengthen bilateral economic ties.
Relations between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan have reached a qualitatively new level in recent years, with special emphasis placed on developing mutual trust and economic partnership, meeting participants noted.
Afghan business representatives praised the industrial and entrepreneurial potential of Ferghana Region and expressed interest in expanding cooperation across trade, agriculture, aviation, energy, and logistics. New joint initiatives were also presented during the meeting.
Bozorov reaffirmed the readiness of Ferghana Region to provide full support for the implementation of joint projects.
Following the talks, the parties agreed to accelerate the implementation of investment initiatives, increase bilateral trade volume, and continue advancing cooperation.
