Ferghana region discusses cooperation with Sumitomo Corporation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from the Ferghana region led by regional governor Khayrullo Bozorov held a meeting in Tokyo with representatives of Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation, during which prospects for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation were discussed.

The talks focused on developing investment cooperation and implementing joint projects in infrastructure and raw materials processing. The regional governor presented information on the investment climate in the Ferghana region, as well as ongoing projects and the region’s economic potential.

The sides exchanged views on further development of the partnership and confirmed their intention to continue cooperation in the identified areas.

Sumitomo Corporation, represented at the meeting, is one of Japan’s largest general trading and industrial corporations. Founded in 1919, it is part of the Sumitomo Group, headquartered in Tokyo.

Today, the corporation operates in more than 60 countries and regions worldwide and implements investment, trade, and infrastructure projects on a global scale.
