Fares for public transport in Tashkent increases by 16.6%

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Association Toshshahartranshizmat (Tashkent city Transport Service) is increasing fares for public transport in Tashkent from 1 April 2012.

From 1 April 2012 the fares in public transport grew by 16.6% from 600 soums to 700 soums. New tariffs are set for city buses, trams and underground, as well as suburban buses within the city, the Association said.

At the same time, fares for passenger route taxies increased from 600 soums to 800 soums. The growth rate made up 33.33%.

Association Toshshahartranshizmat said that the growth of fares is connected with jump of prices to oil-lubricant materials and spare parts.
