EDCF issues US$33m loan to equip Uzbek schools

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- South Korea provided a loan for US$33 million to finance a project in education sphere in Uzbekistan, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan said.

Uzbekistan and South Korea signed a loan agreement on financing a project “Further developing information-communication technologies in school education” was also signed. Within the agreement, the EDCF of South Korea will allocate the loan for US$33 million to Uzbekistan

The project envisages creation of computer classes at schools in Uzbekistan. About 2,220 computers will be installed at general schools within the project.
