Korzinka to Lease 36 Parking Lots Near Its Supermarkets
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Korzinka supermarket chain has secured the lease rights to 36 existing parking lots located next to its operating stores. The project aims to improve the availability of parking spaces and create more comfortable conditions for customers, according to the company.
The company obtained the rights to organize parking facilities across the 36 sites through an auction. All of these lots are situated adjacent to functioning supermarkets within the chain.
Representatives of the company stated that they view parking infrastructure as an integral part of customer service. The goal of the project is to ensure that customers can quickly find an available space for their vehicles when visiting the stores.
A similar model is already in place at several of the chain's supermarkets. The first hour of parking is provided free of charge, after which an hourly fee is applied. According to company estimates, one hour is sufficient to complete most purchases, while this approach ensures a regular turnover of parking spaces and maintains their availability for visitors.
During the initial phase of the project, Parking24 will act as the technical operator, taking responsibility for the implementation and operation of automated parking systems. Moving forward, Korzinka plans to continue collaborating with specialized partners to ensure the stable operation of its parking infrastructure.
The organization of the parking facilities will be carried out in stages following the completion of all legally required procedures and the receipt of necessary approvals.
The company emphasized that the development of parking infrastructure is not considered an independent business activity. The primary focus of the chain remains the development of modern retail trade and improving the quality of customer service, while the creation of parking lots is part of efforts to establish a convenient environment around its supermarkets.
Korzinka also noted that the project is not related to the organization of on-street paid parking. The initiative relates exclusively to existing parking areas located directly adjacent to the chain's supermarkets. These lots are positioned outside the main carriage-way of roads, separated from street traffic, sidewalks, and green zones, and are already utilized by supermarket visitors.
