Uzbekistan and AFD Discuss Public Procurement Reforms
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Agency for Industrial Cooperation and Public Procurement of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with a delegation from the French Development Agency (AFD) to discuss the further improvement of the public procurement system.
During the talks, primary attention was paid to the digitalization of procurement procedures, the development of interactive services, the expansion of the functionality of electronic platforms, increasing openness and transparency in public procurement, and improving monitoring mechanisms.
The participants also specifically discussed the system for maintaining the registry of untrustworthy suppliers. The sides exchanged views on the formation of the registry, its legal framework, and the role of this tool in reducing risks during public procurement and ensuring the fulfillment of contractual obligations.
Following the negotiations, the sides agreed to continue studying advanced international experience, implementing modern solutions, developing digital services, and expanding practical cooperation and information sharing in the field of public procurement.
