Uzbekistan, China to expand cooperation in public procurement

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Industrial Cooperation and Public Procurement Agency of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Uzbekistan, during which the parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the fields of industrial cooperation and public procurement.

Representatives of the Agency familiarized the Chinese side with the core areas of their activity, their mandates, and ongoing reforms aimed at improving the system of industrial cooperation and public procurement. Special attention was paid to the priority tasks for developing the public procurement system through 2030.

During the negotiations, the parties reviewed opportunities for attracting international experts and consultants, implementing experience-sharing programs, conducting joint seminars and training sessions, as well as carrying out a comprehensive analysis of the public procurement and industrial cooperation systems using advanced international practices.

Furthermore, the sides discussed matters regarding the provision of financial and expert support for promising projects and the expansion of practical interaction in areas of mutual interest.

Following the meeting, the parties reached a mutual understanding on defining priority areas of cooperation, forming a portfolio of joint projects, developing mechanisms for their implementation, and organizing subsequent working meetings.
