EBRD: Uzbekistan’s economy to grow by 6.2% in 2017

The European bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) forecasted that the gross domestic product (GDP) of Uzbekistan will grow by 6.2% in 2017, the May report “Regional Economic Prospects in EBRD Countries of Operations” said.
According to the specialists of the bank, the economy of Uzbekistan rose by 7.8% in 2016. The bank said that Uzbekistan’s GDP will rise by 6.5% in 2018.
EBRD experts noted that high export prices for energy carriers, economic recovery of the Russian Federation and the inflow of remittances will support growth in Uzbekistan.
