Denis Istomin books place in semifinals of АТР Sydney

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Uzbekistan number one Denis Istomin moved to semifinal of АТР Apia International Sydney, surprisingly defeating France’s Richard Gasquet.

In the quarterfinal match, qualifier Denis Istomin claimed victory over French player in straight sets – 6/4, 7/6 (7/4).

The sides played almost two hours. Denis Istomin recorded eight aces, while French player – nine. Istomin claimed three from eight break-points and Gasquest – two from seven.

In the semifinal match, Denis Istomin will play against Jarkko Nieminen (Finland), who beat Bobby Reynolds (US) – 6/3 and 6/3.
