Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — France captain Kylian Mbappe won the Golden Boot as the top scorer at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, held in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

The French forward scored 10 goals, becoming the first player in history to finish as the tournament's top scorer at two consecutive World Cups, following the 2022 and 2026 editions. Mbappe also became the first player since 1970 to score 10 goals at a single World Cup. Germany's Gerd Muller achieved the same feat in 1970. The World Cup scoring record remains held by France's Just Fontaine, who scored 13 goals at the 1958 tournament.

Argentina captain Lionel Messi received the Silver Boot after scoring eight goals. England's Jude Bellingham and Norway's Erling Haaland shared the Bronze Boot with seven goals each.

Spain captain Rodri was named the tournament's best player and received the Golden Ball after Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 in the World Cup final.

Spain goalkeeper Unai Simon was named the tournament's best goalkeeper.

Spain defender Pau Cubarsi, 19, received the award for the tournament's best young player. The prize has been awarded to players aged 21 or younger since the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

The World Cup was held from 11 June to 19 July. It was the first tournament to feature 48 national teams and the first to be jointly hosted by three countries: the United States, Mexico and Canada.
