Uzbekistan, China to Accelerate Investment Project Implementation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev held a meeting with Zhao Yaqin, president of the Beijing Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Entrepreneurs, and representatives of leading Chinese companies. The sides discussed prospects for implementing investment projects and developing long-term industrial cooperation.
The talks focused on initiatives in agriculture, industry, energy, digital technologies and healthcare.
One of the key projects is an initiative by Shaanxi Orange Industrial to develop 27,400 hectares of pasture and rain-fed land in Jizzakh region for the cultivation and processing of oilseed crops. Planned investment in the project exceeds US$140 million.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to accelerate work on each of the projects under consideration and ensure close coordination with the relevant government bodies. They intend to move from the agreements reached to practical implementation of the initiatives as soon as possible.
Jamshid Khodjaev said Uzbekistan remains open to new investment initiatives and is ready to create conditions for long-term investment, technological partnerships and production localization.
