CTC Media Inc to close its operations in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- CTC Media Inc, Russia’s leading independent media company, has decided to discontinue its joint venture operations in Uzbekistan, the company said in a statement.

In September 2007, CTC established a new TV company in Uzbekistan in cooperation with Terra group, a leading independent Uzbek media holding.

The venture commenced commercial broadcasting in April 2008 on Channel 30. The channel’s programming schedule includes a mix of CTC and Domashny content.
