CSCEC International to help develop New Bekabad
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzmetkombinat and China’s CSCEC International have agreed to implement new investment projects in Uzbekistan, including an energy storage system with a capacity of up to 150 MW and the transformation of Bekabad into a modern city known as New Bekabad, Uzmetkombinat said.
The meeting with the Chinese delegation followed earlier negotiations held during a visit by Uzmetkombinat representatives to China. The sides moved on to discussing the practical implementation of the agreements reached during those talks.
One of the key areas was financing and investment in a battery energy storage system with a capacity of up to 150 MW. The sides also agreed to cooperate on the Tebinbulak project and implement major investment initiatives in Uzbekistan.
Particular attention was given to the development of Bekabad. Under the agreements, the city is planned to be transformed into a modern “New Bekabad”. Chinese partners have been tasked with preparing a project proposal for the initiative.
Following the meeting, Uzmetkombinat and CSCEC International signed a memorandum of cooperation. The document provides for the development of a long-term and mutually beneficial partnership between the two sides.
