Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A mission of Chinese medical specialists examined 68 children and performed 30 free surgical operations in the Khorezm region, Dunyo news agency reported, citing the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Shanghai.
The delegation included 18 doctors and representatives of Fudan University Children’s Hospital, Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, the Future Smile Foundation and Meihao Tuoxin Biotechnology Co., Ltd.
At the regional multidisciplinary children’s medical center, Chinese specialists performed surgeries in urology, maxillofacial surgery, plastic surgery, orthopedics and general surgery.
Practical training was organized for doctors from regional and district medical institutions. The medical center also received a videolaryngoscope as technical assistance.
The cooperation is being carried out under a memorandum between Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Health and the Future Smile Foundation. In 2025, 18 Uzbek pediatricians received training in Hangzhou. In September, Chinese specialists examined 94 children and performed 30 free surgeries. In April this year, another 50 local doctors received training at the National Children’s Medical Center.
As part of the visit, the Chinese delegation also traveled to the Samarkand and Ferghana regions. A preliminary agreement was reached with the Ferghana Regional Multidisciplinary Children’s Hospital to perform surgeries on children in the first half of 2027.
In addition, representatives of Meihao Tuoxin Biotechnology Co., Ltd. held talks with the Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry.
The sides discussed the possibility of launching production of medical equipment and medical and cosmetic products in Uzbekistan.
