Uzbekistan, Qatar Discuss Expanding Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Qatar discussed further strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation between the two countries during a meeting in Tashkent on 7 September 2026.
Uzbekistan's First Deputy Foreign Minister Bahromjon Aloev met with Ahmad bin Hassan Al-Hammadi, secretary general of Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and chairman of the Committee of the Alliance of Civilizations, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
Particular attention during the meeting was given to developing cooperation in the political, trade and economic, and cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The sides also discussed practical steps to intensify bilateral contacts. In particular, they agreed to jointly take the necessary measures to hold various joint events and organise mutual visits.
Uzbekistan and Qatar also agreed to jointly organise international conferences.
The talks were held as part of efforts to further develop bilateral interaction and expand practical cooperation between the relevant structures of the two countries.
