Bunyodkor to play tournament in Israel

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan League Champions and ACL Semifinalist Budyonkor has received an official invitation from Israel to play in the First Channel Cup to be played in Tel-Aviv.

The academy owned by Russian businessman and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is organizing the tournament from 25 January to 1 February 2009.

Clubs like CSKA Moscow, Zenit Saint Petersburg, Krylya Sovetov, Dinamo Kiev, Shaktyor Donetsk will also appear in the tournament.

In 2006, Shakhtyor Donetsk was the first to win the Cup, CSKA Moscow won the tournament in 2007 and Dinamo Kiev in 2008.
