Banks allowed to identify customers by driver’s license

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- By the decision of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, individuals are allowed to use a new driver’s license and passports without registration stamps when identifying in banks.

The decision of the Central Bank notes that by a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers from 19 June 2017, a new driver’s license is equated to official state identity documents.

When an individual who is a client of a bank provides a driver’s license of a new sample or a passport without a stamp, commercial banks during the identification process can obtain additional information through an interdepartmental platform.
