Aral Fish Cuisine Festival to Be Held in Karakalpakstan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —An international gastronomic festival titled “99 Dishes of Aral Fish” will be held on 23–24 April 2026, at the “Karateren” ethno-tourism complex located in Takhtakupyr district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

The event aims to promote gastronomic tourism in the Aral Sea region internationally, expand cultural and entertainment activities, and attract both domestic and foreign tourists.

The festival has been held regularly since 2017. This year, around 50 professional chefs are expected to participate, presenting a wide variety of fish-based dishes characteristic of the Aral region’s cuisine.

Visitors will be able to observe live cooking processes and taste 99 types of fish dishes, including fried and stewed fish, traditional fish soups, and other regional recipes. The event will conclude with an award ceremony for participants.

The “99 Dishes of Aral Fish” festival is regarded as a cultural event reflecting the culinary traditions, natural heritage, and gastronomic identity of the Aral Sea region.
