Almalyk city mayor Barkhayot Meliyev met with Yuhang deputy mayor Hong Jianliang and Chinese entrepreneurs during a working visit by a Tashkent region delegation to China, the Tashkent region administration's press service said.
The two sides discussed attracting investment, implementing production projects and developing interregional cooperation.
The meeting presented information on Almalyk's investment potential, conditions for investors and available opportunities. Particular attention was given to attracting new investment, launching production facilities and creating jobs.
As a result of the talks, an agreement was reached with STRATEGY HG NAVI CAPITAL PTE.LTD. to implement a US$34.5 million project in Almalyk. The enterprise will specialise in the production of items made from metal, glass, engineering plastics and sanitary ware.
Plans were also identified to launch the production of household plastic items with US$2 million in investment and the creation of new jobs.
The meeting also produced an agreement to establish sister-city ties between Almalyk and Yuhang. The two sides agreed to expand cooperation in investment, trade, economic and other areas.
