Acer Marks 50th Anniversary and Unveils New Growth Areas
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Acer is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2026. A meeting with representatives of Uzbek media was held in Tashkent, where the main stages of the company's development, current business lines, and new products were presented.

Acer was founded on 1 August 1976 in Taiwan under the name Multitech with an initial capital of US$25 thousand. At the initial stage, the company's activities were related to trading, product development, and consulting in the field of microprocessor technology.
In 1987, the company was renamed Acer. Over the past 50 years, the company has expanded its operations in international markets. Today, its products are present in more than 160 countries. Core areas include the production of personal computers and displays, gaming devices, monitors, AI PCs, and other technological solutions.
According to the company, the Acer group employs approximately 12 thousand people worldwide.
As part of the anniversary campaign, the slogan "50 Years of Breaking Barriers" is being used, reflecting the company's approach to the development of technology and its application in various fields.
In the education sector, in particular, from 2015 to 2025, more than 30 million Chromebook laptops were delivered to students in various countries. The total number of Acer devices supplied to homes, schools, and businesses exceeds 180 million.
Artificial Intelligence and New Directions
One of the company's growth directions is the integration of artificial intelligence technologies into computing devices and software solutions.
Currently, Acer's portfolio includes AI-supported computers, solutions for education and business, Predator and Nitro series gaming devices, monitors, and other equipment.
The company is also developing 3D visualization technology and immersive solutions, including those based on SpatialLabs.
As part of its further development, Acer is considering the application of technologies in areas such as personalized learning, human-AI interaction, medical technology, smart devices, and systems for various types of spaces.
Expansion of Product Categories
In addition to traditional computer equipment, Acer is developing the Acer Gadgets & Lifestyle division, which offers products for everyday use.
One of these areas is the Acerpure line, which includes home and kitchen appliances, cleaning devices, hair care products, and other goods.
Products from this segment were presented to participants of the meeting in Tashkent. The company also outlined plans for further development of the product line and the expansion of technology application areas.
Acer's 50th anniversary served as an occasion to discuss the company's history and ongoing changes in the technology industry.
Key areas of future work include the development of AI-enabled devices, the expansion of product categories, and the application of digital technologies in new fields.
