About 18 joint ventures launched in Samarkand region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- About 18 joint enterprises with participation of foreign investments for US$51.1 million were launched in Samarkand region of Uzbekistan.

According to the newspaper Pravda Vostoka, number of production objects in the region reached 3,500 units, small businesses – almost 16,000. The volume of gross product in 2015 rose by 9.3%.

The commercial banks allocated 787.5 billion soums of loans. About 94,300 people were provided with jobs in 2015.

The region produced 1.234 million tonnes of vegetables and 229,400 tonnes of fruits in 2015.
