Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Construction is nearing completion on an automotive components manufacturing enterprise in the city of Kuvasay, being established in cooperation with South Korean company Hansae Mobility. The facility is located within the Kuvasay branch of the Kokand Free Economic Zone.
The Governor of the Ferghana region, Khayrullo Bozorov, recently conducted a working visit to the site to inspect the progress of the project, where construction works are wrapping up and the installation of technological equipment is underway.
The total investment allocated for the project amounts to US$30 million. Officials noted that the establishment of the enterprise serves as a practical outcome of expanding mutually beneficial economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea.
According to the project plan, the plant will provide jobs for 120 people during its initial phase. Total employment is expected to exceed 200 positions as operations expand in the future. The manufacturing facility is scheduled to be commissioned by the end of 2026.
In the longer term, authorities plan to establish additional production and service facilities around the new enterprise to form a modern industrial cluster in the region.
Representatives of the South Korean company briefed the regional governor on the current implementation status and the construction works being carried out at the site.
