Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The second season of the 2026 "Initiative Budget" (Open Budget) program in Uzbekistan is scheduled to launch on 15 July, according to the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

  • The civic campaign will be rolled out across several distinct stages:
  • Project Proposal Submission: 15 July to 3 August
  • Project Selection and Review: 4 August to 18 August
  • Project Promotion and Campaigning: 19 August to 21 August
  • Public Voting Period: 22 August to 31 August

The winners of the primary voting stage will be officially announced on 1 September, coinciding with Uzbekistan's Independence Day celebrations. Furthermore, the ministry plans to determine additional winning initiatives during a supplementary period running from 1 September to 10 September.

The initiative allows citizens to directly nominate and vote for local infrastructure improvements in their mahallas, including road repairs, utility upgrades, and school equipment allocations, funded through the state budget.
