Uzbekistan and ICESCO Discuss Broadening Practical Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov met on 6 July with Salim bin Muhammad Al-Malik, director-general of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), who arrived in the country to participate in the opening ceremony of the First International Forum of Islamic Civilization.

During the talks, the sides discussed practical matters concerning the further development of constructive dialogue and the expansion of cooperation between Uzbekistan and ICESCO in the fields of science, education, culture, and tourism.

Special attention was paid to the implementation of the Action Plan, which defines priority areas of interaction and provides for the execution of joint projects in the near future.

The sides also expressed satisfaction with the development of cooperation and reaffirmed their interest in further strengthening the partnership across key areas of interaction.
