Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A delegation from Uzbekistan is participating in a meeting of the Working Group on implementing customer-centric principles in the operations of the tax services of the CIS member states, which began its work in Ufa on 7 July 2026. The event is taking place within the framework of the Coordinating Council of Heads of Tax Services of the CIS member states.
The meeting brings together representatives of tax administrations from across the Commonwealth to discuss modern approaches to developing a service model for tax administration, improving the quality of public services, implementing digital technologies, and exchanging best practices.
The delegation of Uzbekistan is led by Turabek Turaev, Director of a Department at the Tax Committee.
One of the key topics of the meeting was the practical implementation of strategic documents aimed at developing customer focus. The Uzbek side presented its experience in executing the Presidential Decree of 19 May 2026, No. PF-95, which established a customer-centric approach as a priority development area for the tax service. Participants were also informed about the introduction of a customer-centric index for tax authorities starting 1 August 2026.
Special attention was given to the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in tax administration.
The delegation presented several digital projects developed by the Tax Committee, including machine learning (ML) models for tax risk assessment, the "Risk Scoring" intelligent system, an AI-powered Call Center, solutions based on computer vision technologies, and other digital innovations designed to increase administrative efficiency and improve taxpayer service quality.
Furthermore, the experience of utilizing feedback loops to improve tax services was presented to the attendees. Specifically, the delegation discussed the transformation of the "Avtokameral" (automated desk audit) system from a regulatory control tool into a taxpayer support service, the activities of the Public Council under the Tax Committee, and the practice of hosting monthly Open Days.
The Tax Committee noted that participating in the working group fosters professional cooperation among CIS tax services, enables the exchange of valuable expertise, and supports the ongoing refinement of customer-centric practices and digital transformation within Uzbekistan's tax administration.
