Funding of 9.5 Billion Soums Allocated for Tashkent Water Pipeline

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Following a senatorial inquiry into problems with drinking water supply in the Jaloir mahalla of the Yangikhayot district of Tashkent, 9.5 billion soums have been allocated to complete the construction of the water supply network. The press service of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis announced the development.

On 25 May 2026, Gulnora Marufova, a member of the Senate Committee on Science, Education and Health, sent a senatorial inquiry to the Governor of the city of Tashkent. The document noted that despite previously planned construction of 41.4 kilometers of drinking water supply networks worth 8.7 billion soums, the works had not been completed.

As a result, more than 2,000 residents of the mahalla, which contains over 300 households, continued to experience difficulties with the provision of drinking water, leading to numerous complaints from the population.

The Tashkent City Administration submitted its response to the senatorial inquiry within the established timeframe. The response states that 9.5 billion soums have been allocated from the Tashkent City Development Fund to complete the works.

Within the framework of the project, 8.6 kilometers of drinking water supply networks will be constructed in the mahalla. Tashkent Shahar Suv Engineering Kompaniyasi LLC, operating under Uzsuvtaminot JSC, has been designated as the construction customer.
