2.21m people use Internet in Uzbekistan

The agency said over 829 business entities render data transfer services, including internet, as of 1 July 2008, while the number of Internet-cafes reached 837.

The number of mobile users in the country increased from to 5.8 million users in the beginning of 2008 to 9 million users in the reporting period. The mobile penetration rate comprised 33%, the UzACI said.
