World Cup: Brazil reaches semifinals, beating Columbia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Brazil became the second semifinalist of the 2014 FiFA World Cup Brazil after outplaying Columbia with the score 2-1.

Brazilian defender Thiago Silva opened the score on 7 minutes after corner-kick, while David Luiz doubled the lead on 69 minutes with impressive free-kick.

Colombia were given hope with a late Rodriguez penalty, which could have seen Julio Cesar sent off.

Brazil earned their semifinal clash with Germany. The match will be held on 9 July 2014.
