Visiting Chinese premier meets Uzbek speaker

Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao, within his visit to Uzbekistan, has met Erkin Xalilov, speaker of the Legislative Chamber [Uzbek parliament’s lower house].

The sides noted that relations between Uzbekistan and China were developing in all spheres, in particular, in the parliamentary sphere.

Wen Jiabao familiarized himself with the activities of the bicameral Uzbek parliament.

During the talks, there was a thorough exchange of views on the current state of and prospects for cooperation between the legislative bodies of Uzbekistan and China.
