Uzbekneftegaz, Burintex Plan Joint Drilling Venture
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekneftegaz JSC and Burintex signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint venture in Uzbekistan’s oil and gas sector, officials said during the “Oil and Gas of Uzbekistan – OGU 2026” international exhibition and conference.
The agreement provides for the creation of a joint enterprise in Uzbekistan that will focus on drilling oil and gas wells, performing major well repairs, and delivering integrated service operations. The initiative is seen as part of efforts to expand industrial and technological cooperation in the sector.
The parties identified the key objective of the project as the introduction of modern drilling technologies, improved efficiency of production processes, development of cooperation, and strengthening the technical and human resource potential of Uzbekistan’s oil and gas industry.
As part of the implementation of the agreement, plans include the expansion of high-tech services, partial localization of production processes, and the creation of new jobs. These measures are expected to support greater self-sufficiency in the production base and the development of industry infrastructure.
Representatives of Uzbekneftegaz and Burintex said the partnership is strategic in nature and aimed at introducing modern approaches in the oil and gas sector and ensuring the long-term sustainable development of the industry.
