Uzbekistan’s retail trade turnover hits 20.665 trln. soums in 1H

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Retail trade turnover of Uzbekistan made up 20.665 trillion soums in January-June 2013, which grew by 14.6% year-on-year, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

In the structure of retail trade turnover, the share of food products was 51.8% and that of non-food products – 48.2% (in January-June 2012 – 50.1% and 49.9% respectively).

In the reporting period, the retail trade turnover of trade enterprises reached 7.712 trillion soums or increased by 15,4% in comparison with January-June 2012. In the structure of the retail trade the turnover of trade enterprises was 37.3%.

In the total turnover of trade enterprises, the share of the retail trade turnover of trade enterprises in the rural area was 22.3%.

The sale of agricultural products and livestock in dekhkan markets has increased by 12.6% and reached 8.704 trillion soums. The share of sales in the retail trade turnover was 42.1%.

The goods turnover of commodity and specialized markets was 4.248 trillion soums or 17.3% higher than in January-June 2012. The share of the informal sector in the total volume of goods turnover was 20.6%.
