Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Demand for export freight transportation from Uzbekistan continues to grow.
In the third quarter of 2026, requests to transport goods abroad increased by 29% year on year, while freight rates rose by 10%, according to a report by logistics service ATI.SU.
Over the first nine months of the year, the number of export freight requests increased by 11%. Growth continued throughout all three quarters. The most significant increase was recorded on the Belarus route, where demand for cargo deliveries rose by 80%. The number of requests for shipments to Russia increased by a quarter.
The import freight market showed a less consistent trend. Since the beginning of the year, the number of orders across all routes has increased by 16%, but the figure fell by 8% in the third quarter.
Activity declined noticeably in July and August, but the number of import freight requests rose by 39% in September.
On the Russian route, the number of orders in the first month of autumn increased by almost 50%. However, because of lower activity in the preceding two months, the quarterly figure for this route fell by 4%. Import freight rates increased by just 2% over the year.
Domestic freight transportation also showed positive momentum. In the third quarter, requests for cargo deliveries within Uzbekistan increased by 12% compared with the second quarter.
ATI.SU noted that the figures reflect not only market conditions but also the platform’s expanding user base. Uzbek carriers and customers are increasingly moving from manual processes to digital services.
Farid Vakhidov, head of ATI.SU’s representative office in Uzbekistan, attributed the summer slowdown on the Russian route to a fuel crisis that particularly affected imports from Russia.
According to Vakhidov, the diesel fuel situation improved in September, which largely explains the sharp recovery in demand on that route.
