Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A government delegation of Uzbekistan visited the United Arab Emirates on 13–14 April to discuss the expansion of bilateral cooperation and the implementation of investment projects.

The delegation was led by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev and included Acting Chairman of the Board of “Uzsuvta’minot” JSC Ahmad Suvankulov.

During the visit, negotiations were held on expanding cooperation in key areas, including the economy, tourism, logistics, digital transformation, infrastructure, and water management.

One of the central meetings took place with Chief Executive Officer of TAQA Water Solutions Nader Assad bin Taher. The parties reviewed in detail the progress of a project to construct a new wastewater treatment facility for Tashkent and discussed accelerating the practical implementation phase.

The project is considered an important element of the modernization of the capital’s urban infrastructure, aimed at improving environmental sustainability and the quality of public utilities for residents.

The participants emphasized the importance of introducing advanced technologies in water supply and wastewater systems, as well as leveraging international expertise. The implementation of the project is expected to further deepen cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates.
