Uzbekistan U-17 to Play Friendly Against Yemen
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s U-17 national football team will play a friendly match against Yemen as part of its preparations for the AFC U-17 Asian Cup.
The tournament is set to begin in the coming days in the city of Jeddah. Initially, Uzbekistan’s first group-stage match was scheduled for May 6. However, following North Korea’s withdrawal from the competition, the schedule was revised, and the team’s opening match will now take place on May 10 against India.
In connection with the adjusted calendar and the need to provide additional match practice, as well as to improve the quality of preparation for the tournament, an agreement was reached to hold a friendly match against Yemen on April 29.
The match is seen as an important stage of preparation, allowing the coaching staff to assess players’ readiness and refine tactical formations ahead of the official competition.
