Uzbekistan to Build Smart Electronics Cluster in Syrdarya
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan plans to establish a smart electronics industrial cluster in the Syrdarya region with participation from China’s HKC Corporation, a global manufacturer of display technologies and electronic products. The initiative was announced following online negotiations conducted under instructions from the President of Uzbekistan.
The talks with HKC Corporation management, which specializes in LCD and OLED panels, smart devices, and Internet of Things technologies, were held by Syrdarya region governor Erkinjon Turdimov. The discussions focused on a large-scale investment project in the electrical engineering sector.
According to the agreements reached, the Chinese company confirmed its intention to implement projects in the region and will soon send a working group to Syrdarya to conduct a preliminary assessment of potential production sites.
It is noted that under presidential directives for the 2026–2030 period, HKC Corporation plans to implement six major projects in the region. Their launch is expected to create up to 14,000 permanent jobs.
A key element of the initiative is the creation of not just a single enterprise, but a fully integrated industrial cluster in Syrdarya. It will combine production of semiconductor displays, smart electronics, and household appliances, aiming to develop a high-tech sector and expand the region’s industrial base.
