Uzbekistan, Bashkortostan Agree to Expand Business Ties
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Bashkortostan have agreed to further expand trade and economic cooperation following a business forum held in Ufa on 5 August 2026.
According to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, participants signed a memorandum of understanding, while business representatives concluded commercial contracts and cooperation agreements.
The business forum focused on further developing cooperation between the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
More than 100 Uzbek companies representing the light industry, food industry, chemical industry, automotive and furniture sectors, construction, healthcare and information and communication technologies took part in the event.
The forum was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Odilkhon Rustamov, Deputy Chairman of the Association of Small Business Muzaffarkhon Musaev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan and Minister of Industry, Energy and Innovation Alexander Sheldyaev, heads of seven ministries of the republic and Director of the Alga Special Economic Zone Artem Penzin.
During the meeting, participants noted that bilateral trade between Uzbekistan and Russia reached nearly US$13 billion in 2025. More than 3,000 enterprises with Russian capital are currently operating in Uzbekistan.
Following the forum, the sides reached several practical agreements. In particular, an agreement was reached with BashGlobalGroup LLC to open the Uzbekistan Trade House at the Eurasia wholesale distribution centre, involve Uzbek companies in the International Multifunctional Business Complex project and sell non-food products through the Tolpar Technopark.
Bashkortostan companies were also invited to establish production facilities in a free economic zone focused on supplying products to the Afghan market.
As part of the forum, the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Bashkortostan signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at developing bilateral cooperation.
Following B2B negotiations, business representatives also signed commercial contracts and cooperation agreements.
