Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Large batches of potent medicines and, in one case, 200 grams of hashish have been seized in three operations in Andijan and Ferghana regions.
In the Izboskan district of Andijan region, officers of the State Security Service’s regional department, together with Border Troops personnel and representatives of the regional customs department, stopped a Lacetti traveling toward Tashkent.
The vehicle was driven by a resident of Bekabad, Tashkent region, born in 1986, who had previously been convicted. Officers found 1,400 units of the potent medicine Regapen inside the car.
Another case was identified in Kokand by officers of the State Security Service’s Ferghana regional department together with customs and law enforcement officials. They seized 1,092 units of Regapen and 200 grams of the narcotic substance hashish from a bag belonging to a local resident born in 1976.
In addition, law enforcement officers stopped a VAZ 21017 in Uchkuprik district that was traveling from Margilan to Kokand.
The vehicle was driven by a Kokand resident born in 1985. Officers found 99 units of the potent medicine Tropicamide inside the car. The seized medicines were documented in accordance with established procedural requirements.
In total, the three operations resulted in the seizure of 2,591 units of potent medicines and 200 grams of hashish.
Criminal cases have been opened against the individuals involved in all three incidents. Investigations are underway.
