“Uzbekistan Railways” Comments on Fire Incident in Urgench

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Reports about a fire involving one of the railcars in Urgench circulated on social media.

According to the press service of JSC Uzbekistan Railways, the incident occurred on one of the sidings at Urgench station.

“A freight vehicle parked near a railcar caught fire due to a technical malfunction. All nearby railcars remained intact and undamaged,” the company stated.

The company further clarified that the fire was promptly extinguished by the relevant emergency services.
