Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has named the first winners of the Teacher of the Year professional contest, which brought together more than 46,000 teachers from across the country.
A total of 208 teachers took first place in their respective districts and cities. The competition assessed teachers’ professional skills, with particular attention paid to advanced practices that contribute to improving the quality of education.
Each of the 208 winners will receive a cash prize of 616 million soums. The amount is equivalent to 1,400 basic calculated values.
The contest is being held for the first time at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan. Its goals are to identify the professional potential of teachers, promote healthy competition among educators and improve the quality of education.
The participation of more than 46,000 teachers also demonstrates significant interest among educators in the professional contest and their desire to showcase the best results in their respective regions.
