Uzbekistan, Lithuania Discuss Expanding Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov held talks with Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Kęstutis Budrys to discuss the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation.
The discussions focused on intensifying political dialogue, expanding trade and economic relations, increasing mutual trade turnover, and deepening business engagement between the two countries.
The sides also reviewed opportunities for further cooperation in the transport sector and discussed strengthening the legal and contractual framework necessary to expand partnership.
It was noted that Lithuanian companies have been invited to participate in the 5th International Investment Forum to be held in Tashkent. An agreement was also reached to organize Uzbek-Lithuanian business forums.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their readiness to further develop cooperation both bilaterally and within the framework of Uzbekistan’s engagement with the European Union.
