Uzbekistan, Japan Discuss Expansion of Bilateral Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 2 June 2026, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mirvohid Azimov held talks with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan Kenji Hirata.
During the meeting in Tashkent, the two sides discussed the current state of relations between Uzbekistan and Japan as well as prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation.
The officials noted that both sides agreed to continue close coordination in order to implement previously reached high-level agreements. They also discussed preparations for joint events scheduled for the current year.
The meeting reaffirmed ongoing efforts by Tashkent and Tokyo to maintain dialogue and strengthen cooperation across agreed areas.
