Uzbekistan, Iran Discuss Regional Security Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov held a telephone conversation with the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Abbas Araghchi, during which the two sides discussed a broad range of regional and international issues, according to the Uzbek foreign ministry.
According to Saidov, the discussions focused on regional security matters and pressing international challenges.
Both sides emphasized the importance of resolving existing issues exclusively through political and diplomatic means in accordance with international law.
Special attention during the call was given to the development of traditionally friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Iran.
The ministers also discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
At the conclusion of the conversation, both sides agreed to continue maintaining close dialogue and strengthening practical cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries.
